Pennant update before Round 2

1 May by Sean Spralja

Hi everyone, a big well done to all of you for getting through Round 1 – and what a cracking weekend it was for it. Ahead of Round 2, wanted to update you on a few items.

This week is the first of our alternate format for Men’s and Women’s Grade 2-11 Pennant – being a best of 2 doubles followed by a first to 8 singles. Doubles will still be played first. A reminder that it is advantage scoring in doubles for all Grades except for State Grade & Grade 1 Men’s & Women’s.

Over the weekend we had plenty of players that didn’t have their CPP set up or weren’t correctly registered. If you are utilising an emergency that does not have their CPP, can I please ask you to organise this ASAP.

Clubs may be fined for use of an unregistered player – I will give time post the round to get the CPP sorted, because I am conscious that it is a new process that we are getting used to, but it’s important that every new player gets in the habit of registering prior to stepping on court for a Pennant match.

Afternoon tea is a requirement for Pennant matches and should be provided by the home tea post play. Whilst we understand that matches sometimes finish late, the home team should still offer to host.

Any updates to order of merit need to be in to us by Thursday 12.00pm to ensure that they can be actioned prior to Round 2. Please email these to leaguesvic@tennis.com.au

Thank you and all the best for Round 2.
